PURPOSEFULLY HOLY [Week 1]

[MAIN PASSAGE FOCUS]:
COLOSSIANS 3:12-17 (NLT)
12Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
13Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you.
Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.
14Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony.
15And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.
16Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives.
Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives.
Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.
17And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.



NOTES:
God has called, chosen, hand selected and pre-destined His people for a holy future and extraordinary purpose.


Holiness - Set apart for the purposes and pleasure of The Lord (only).


[FOCUS 1]
With everything we face in life we can either have a holy or unholy response.

Where we are commanded to be clothed in the 5 things listed in verse 12, when we are under spiritual attack (which is often with the world we live in), we see that the following is true:

Tenderhearted Mercy - Judementalness

Kindness - Meanness

Humility - Arrogance [Complacency]

Gentleness - Harshness and Agression

Patience - Discontentment and Irritability


1 PETER 1:14-16 (NLT)
14So you must live as God’s obedient children.
Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires.
You didn’t know any better then.
15But now you must be holy in everything you do, just as God who chose you is holy.
16For the Scriptures say, “You must be holy because I am holy.”

[TPT]
14As God’s obedient children, never again shape your lives by the desires that you followed when you didn’t know better.
15Instead, shape your lives to become like the Holy One who called you.


ISAIAH 64:8 (NLT)
8And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand.

COLOSSIANS 3:10 (NLT)
10Put on your new nature, and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him.

Many responses are produced from an emotional fixation where The Lord desires His people to take on a Jesus only fixation towards every application of their lives.

2 CORINTHIANS 3:16-18 (NLT)
16But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
17For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
18So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord.
And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

-We will always lack true peace until we make a definite decision to become more like Jesus and allow Him to Lord over us.

--Surrendering and living within His Lordship!


[MAIN REVELATORY FOCUS]:
There is a forecast of severe spiritual attacks coming and the church needs to be ready.
Those that are emotionally propelled will get mauled over and those who choose to stand firm in faith and in My protection will be immovable.

'Never stop praying.' (1 Thessalonians 5:17 NLT)

Don't give in to idleness and life's luxuries.
I will rescue those who sacrifice their comfort.
There is an epidemic of complacent christianity on the rise and truth is being presented as myths and fables rather than the standard and authority.

[Complacency is oftentimes mistaken for laziness - but it can produce laziness but in actuality it means self-congratulating and self-satisfied]

It's time to engage in holy warfare and remove Jezebels control from the nation of America.
This has been the plague that has poisoned this nation for far too long.
Remove the Ahab spirit from the church and from the United States.
Pray with a purpose.

It is time to be clothed in truth and humility so the battle can be won in the worship stance of the saints.

Spirit of Jezebel [Ref. 1 and 2 Kings]:
-Control
-Confusion
-Corruption
-Contamination

Also defined as:
-Idolatry
-Seduction
-Witchcraft
-Death

-Pushing people towards demonic influence and desperation resulting in spiritual/ natural famine.

--The Jezebel spirit has such a wide operation ranging from sexual slackness to the teaching of false doctrine.


Spirit of Ahab:
-Fear and manipulation
-Weakness of willpower
-Spinelessness
-Indifference (passivity) towards sin and evil
-The abdication of the leadership of men in their families and households (meaning: to stand down, vacate or surrender from leadership)
