UNBRIDLED DEVOTION (WK 5)
9/22/2024
Speaker: Pastor Jay
SCRIPTURES
PSALM 40:1-3 3(NLT)
Q: AM I LIVING AS UNTO GOD WITH:
Devotion is:
1 -A long lasting and unwavering commitment.
-David earnestly waited on God for rescue.
Q: When was the last time we waited earnestly without jumping on to the next thing because the response wasn't immediate?
a. -Waiting with a devoted intent gives God permission to work within every crevice of our lives!
b. -David's commitment to The Lord proved that he was depending on God to align his very steps and not take matters into his own hands.
He became willing to be stabilized and carried by The Lord!
c. -Unwavering commitment to God does not just cry out with triumphant praise but also in deepest despair and pain.
-In every season when we show up with a heart of gratitude in pleasure as well as in pain we demonstrate our enduring commitment to The Creator.
PHILIPPIANS 4:11-13
11Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.
12I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.
13For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.
2 -A selfless and self-denying relationship.
LUKE 9:23-26 (NLT)
a. -The flesh must laid down at the altar of The Lord before we can fully take up our cross and follow Jesus.
The working of the flesh is a promiscuous agent that sabotages what the work of the cross was meant to unfold in our lives.
ROMANS 12:1-2 (NLT)
