CALLED TO FAITHFULNESS

Sunday Notes 3/9/2025

[MAIN PASSAGE FOCUS]:
LUKE 10:17-20 (NLT)
17When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!”
18 “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven like lightning!
19Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them.
Nothing will injure you.
20But don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice because your names are registered in heaven.”
[TPT]
17When the seventy missionaries returned to Jesus, they were ecstatic with joy, telling him, “Lord, even the demons obeyed us when we commanded them in your name!”
18Jesus replied, “While you were ministering, I watched Satan topple until he fell suddenly from heaven like lightning to the ground.
19Now you understand that I have imparted to you my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will harm you as you walk in this authority.
20However, your real source of joy isn’t merely that these spirits submit to your authority, but that your names are written in the journals of heaven and that you belong to God’s kingdom. This is the true source of your authority.”
MATTHEW 4:1-11 (NLT)
[The Temptation of Jesus]
NOTES:
-The devil stands NO chance when we give him NO room.
--We need to pray that Christ would occupy every space of our minds and inspire our thinking so we don't give any foothold to the enemy to walk in.
-Some of the accusers strategies are to make the children of God feel unwanted, unneeded, unloved and unaccepted.
--But God calls you holy, chosen and dearly loved (Ref Colossians 3:12 NIV).
—“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name. You are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)
-Knowing The Word of God and having His word occupy our minds.
PRIMARY EMPHASIS
-When the oppressor comes with temptation or false accusation, we need to both know and live out what is written before we can declare truth with Godly authority to the enemy.
-We need to come under Godly authority before we can declare with God given authority.
[Reference LUKE 10:19]
19Now you understand that I have imparted to you my authority to trample over his kingdom. You will trample upon every demon before you and overcome every power Satan possesses. Absolutely nothing will harm you as you walk in this authority.
20However, your real source of joy isn’t merely that these spirits submit to your authority, but that your names are written in the journals of heaven and that you belong to God’s kingdom. This is the true source of your authority.”
--He hasn't called us to be independent from Him but to be ONE with Him! [STEADFASTNESS]
JAMES 4:7-8 (NIV)
7Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8Come near to God and he will come near to you.
Holy authority is void unless we come and stay near to God.
Q: WHAT IS 'COMING NEAR TO GOD?'
COMING NEAR TO GOD IS
1-Relinquishing control
2-Honest conversation
3-Transparency before The Lord
4-Admitting your sin and guilt
5-A cry for help
6-Willingness to undergo life change (processing)
