Called To Faithfulness: Spirit Driven

Called To Faithfulness 3/16/2025
Focus: Spirit Driven
Pastor Jay Singh

[MAIN PASSAGE FOCUS]:
1 JOHN 3:4-10 (NLT)
4Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God.
5And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him.
6Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin.
But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is.
7Dear children, don’t let anyone deceive you about this: When people do what is right, it shows that they are righteous, even as Christ is righteous.
8But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil.
9Those who have been born into God’s family do not make a practice of sinning, because God’s life is in them.
So they can’t keep on sinning, because they are children of God.
10So now we can tell who are children of God and who are children of the devil.
Anyone who does not live righteously and does not love other believers does not belong to God.

2 SAMUEL 11 (NLT)
[David and Bathsheba]

MATTHEW 23:28 (NLT)
28Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness.

MATTHEW 5:27-28 (NLT)
27 “You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’
28But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

JEREMIAH 17:9-10 (NLT)
9“The human heart is the most deceitful of all things,
and desperately wicked.
Who really knows how bad it is?
10But I, the Lord, search all hearts
and examine secret motives.

2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NLT)
1You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times.
2For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.
3They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good.
4They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God.
5They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that!

1 John 3:8
But Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil.
-The works of carnality, the works of hypocrisy, the works of sin and oppression!

NOTES:

[EMPHASIS 1]
If we are not Spirit Driven, we will succumb to the bait of the flesh.
--True disciples follow by the implementation of Christlike lifestyle and not the driving carnality of the flesh.

[Highlight Focus 1]
David's Fall Into Hypocrisy
--It started with his eyes which rejected sanctification.
--It filtered down to his heart which got entrapped into adulterous meditation.
--Then motivated an outward act of lustful fornication.
--Which then resulted in an innocent life being murdered to then cover up the tracks of sin.

HYPOCRISY DEFINED:
The act of pretending to be what one is not.
-Hypocrisy is the act of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs that one doesn't actually follow or act upon, often used to deceive or mislead others.

The word "hypocrisy" comes from the Greek word "hypokrites," meaning "stage actor, pretender, dissembler".

[Highlight Focus 2a]
In an instant, David rejected the power that could have made him godly and took the bait of the flesh.

[Highlight Focus 2b]
The act of sin didn't start at the point of the physical action of sex but in the mind and heart which then enabled the act of physical sin.

[Highlight Focus 3]
The church is currently operating in a form of godliness but they are not under Godly formation.
This will take a total breaking of pride and everything self seeking.

[EMPHASIS 2]
-Allowing a carnal mind to rule us openly rejects the power of The Holy Spirits work within us and opens a realm for the enemy to camp out and take up residence.
