Sunday Message 11/2/2025 - Godly Wisdom and Christ Honoring Character
Pastor Jay Singh

 [MAIN PASSAGE FOCUS]:
JAMES 3:13-18 (NLT)
[True Wisdom Comes from God]
13If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom.
14But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying.
15For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom.
Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.
16For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.
17But the wisdom from above is first of all pure.
It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others.
It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds.
It shows no favoritism and is always sincere.
18And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.

HEBREWS 12:10-13 (NLT)
10But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness.
11No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful!
But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.

[Reference Proverbs 3:11-12 from last week]
11My child, don’t reject the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t be upset when he corrects you.
12For the Lord corrects those he loves,
just as a father corrects a child in whom he delights.

MATTHEW 5:8-10 (NLT)
8 God blesses those whose hearts are pure,
for they will see God.
9 God blesses those who work for peace,
for they will be called the children of God.
10 God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right,
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

[FOCUS 1]
-If there's bitter water coming out of the faucet of our lives, we need to ask The Lord to purify us with His Spirit so that living water pours out.

[FOCUS 2]
-Seeking God's advice delivers us from pleasing anyone but Him.
-Seeking God's counsel eliminates any motivation to measure ourselves to anything or anyone other than Jesus.
-Seeking God's wisdom removes confusion and discombobulation, replacing it with clarity, insight and security.

[FOCUS 3]
Real wisdom is determined by Christ's character at work in us and His nature being fulfilled through us!
