-Getting back to the roots of the cross.
-Getting back to the central focus of the gospel.
-Declaring the power in the resurrected Christ and not tolerating any opposing agenda.
SRIPTURES:
2 PETER 1:3-11 (NLT)
[Growing in Faith]
3By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life.
We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.
4And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises.
These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
1 CORINTHIANS 10:13 (NLT)
13The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience.
And God is faithful.
He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand.
When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.
**When we step into the promises of God we then encounter partnership with God.
ROMANS 1:20-24 (NLT)
20For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky.
Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature.
So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
21Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn’t worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like.
As a result, their minds became dark and confused. 22Claiming to be wise, they instead became utter fools.
23And instead of worshiping the glorious, ever-living God, they worshiped idols made to look like mere people and birds and animals and reptiles.
24So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired.
[Continued- 2 Peter 1:5-11 - PRIMARY TEXT]
5In view of all this, make every effort to respond to God’s promises.
Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge, 6and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, 7and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.
8The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9But those who fail to develop in this way are shortsighted or blind, forgetting that they have been cleansed from their old sins.
10So, dear brothers and sisters, work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen.
Do these things, and you will never fall away.
11Then God will give you a grand entrance into the eternal Kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
1 CHRONICLES 28:9-10 (NLT)
[This verse quotes King David instructing his son Solomon to serve God with a wholehearted devotion and a willing mind,
highlighting the importance of sincerity and willingness in serving God.]
9“And Solomon, my son, learn to know the God of your ancestors intimately.
Worship and serve him with your whole heart and a willing mind.
For the Lord sees every heart and knows every plan and thought.
If you seek him, you will find him.
But if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.
10So take this seriously.
The Lord has chosen you to build a Temple as his sanctuary.
Be strong, and do the work.”
PHILIPPIANS 3:12-14 (TPT)
12I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into his abundance so that I may reach the purpose for which Christ Jesus laid hold of me to make me his own. 13I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead.
14I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.
ROMANS 8:5 (NLT)
5Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit.
